• How do I get started with BerlinCalling?

  There are 2 stages to the registration process. When you first sign up, you become a member of our open community. You can then upload material, provided that you agree to our terms and conditions. We will review your material, and if we like what we see (or hear), you become a premium member. You will then receive an email with a download URL for our standard licensing contract. Fill in your information, incl. bank and tax details, and return the completed contract form to us via e-mail. We will then mail you two hardcopies of the contract to sign. Return one signed copy to us by mail, together with a master of your material. Preferred video formats are: avi, mpg1 or mpg2, codec: Cinepak, DV Pal, divx, xvid, with a min. resolution of 640 x 480) together with one copy of the signed contract. As soon as we receive the signed contract and your master, we will activate your member page and uploaded preview content.
  Stage 1:
  1. Sign up and become an open community member
  2. Login
  3. Upload clip/audio - preview quality mpeg4
  Stage 2:
  4. Creative review and approval - creative/admin
  5. Download contract - fill in and return
  6. Receive and mail back contract hardcopy & master
  7. Premium member login - you're a premium member now!
  8. Your content is added to the content catalogue
  

• When do I receive a contract?

  Upon acceptance of your submission we will contact you directly and send you our standard licensing contract as a download.

• Which format should the video previews have?

  Preview: mpeg-4; Size 320 x 240;
  Video: 1040 KBit/s,
  Audio: mono, 96 KBit/s
  Max 20 Mbyte

• Which format should the audio files have?

  mp3, Stereo, 160 KBit/s

• Which licensing model is there?

  Artists receive a 50 % share of BerlinCalling?s revenue for your content.

• When will I see my submission online?

  When your submission is accepted, your member page and your uploaded material will be activated.

• When do I start earning money?

  We update our content catalogue on a monthly basis. It will probably take 3 to 6 months before your first earnings come rolling in.

• How many times has my content been downloaded from a shop?

  At this point we are still unable to provide online reportings - we have yet to coordinate this with our distribution partners. But we're working on it and expect to implement online reporting in 2008 to keep you continuously updated on your content downloads.

• How often do I receive reportings and my revenue share?

  We report on a quarterly basis.

• How often can I submit material?

  You may submit material as often as you like.

• How will my content be marketed?

  Berlincalling currently holds contracts with various distributors for mobile content worldwide - and we are just getting started. Together with our distribution partners, we market your content to companies and agencies around the world. You'll receive 50% of the earnings. Our goal ist to offer transparent and fair conditions to our artists.

• What does your licensing model look like?

  It's pretty simple: artists receive a 50 % share of berlincalling's revenue for your content.

• How do I obtain BC content? Where can I find my content online?

  We will post links to all online shops carrying BC content on a regular basis.

• What happens to material that is not accepted?

  We will delete all submissions that are not accepted.

• The player doesn't work. What can I do?

  Please make sure you have the latest Flashplayer version installed. You can download it for free from Adobe.

• Log-in problems

  Please use the feedback formular to contact us. We will try to fix those problems very soon.

• What size should the picture for my profile have?

  Your profile pictures will be scaled to 180x180 pixel during the upload process. It's not nessecary to fit that size exactly but keep an eye on the 1x1 ratio.
